TE Pat Freiermuth Latest Steelers Starter to Suffer Injury
Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth was unexpectedly limited in practice on Thursday with a calf injury.
PITTSBURGH — Starting tight end Pat Freiermuth is the latest player to find his way to the Pittsburgh Steelers lengthy injury report.
Freiermuth was listed as a limited participant in the team’s practice on Thursday with a calf injury. He was seen after practice without any apparent injury, so it does not appear to be a major issue, but his status will need to be monitored for the Steelers’ Week 6 game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday.
Freiermuth has played in all five games for the Steelers this season and is second on the team in receptions (20), yards (178) and leads the team with two touchdown receptions.
The Steelers have been playing without veteran backup MyCole Pruitt, who missed the last three games with a knee injury. He was a limited participant in practice for the second straight day as he works his way back.
Darnell Washington, Connor Heyward and Rodney Williams II are the other three tight ends on the team’s roster.
