Former Steelers linebacker Bud Dupree’s chances at playing in front of Pittsburgh fans has slightly increased, as the Tennessee Titans announced on Wednesday that they have designated Dupree for return from the injured reserve list.

This moves allows his return to practice and opens up a 21-day window for Dupree to practice with the team, but he will not count against the team’s 53-man roster until being activated from injured reserve.

Dupree has not played since suffering an abdominal injury in the Titan’s Week 10 against the Saints. He’s recorded only one sack so far this season after registering eight last year with the Steelers. The Steelers’ first-round pick in 2015, Dupree signed a five-year, $82.5 million contract with the Titans this offseason.

The Titans will visit the Steelers this Sunday with a 1 p.m. kickoff.
