Titans Offense Gets Boost with DeAndre Hopkins News vs. Steelers

Steelers DeAndre Hopkins

Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, despite being listed as questionable with a toe injury, is likely to play against the Steelers on Thursday Night Football, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

The injury did not appear to be a concern until Hopkins missed practice on Wednesday. Now that the Titans have listed him as questionable, DeAndre Hopkins will play but could be banged up. But regardless, the team will have its best weapon in the passing game against the Steelers.

Hopkins is coming off a massive game with three touchdowns during the first start of Will Levis’ career. The injury has flared up several times this year, and Hopkins had effusive praise for veteran Patrick Peterson this week. Pittsburgh could be without veteran cornerback Levi Wallace this week, which would thrust backup James Pierre into the sub-package cornerback role.

Levis started his collegiate career at Penn State, but transferred to Kentucky when he couldn’t find playing time behind Sean Clifford. With the Wildcats, Levis threw for 5,232 yards and 46 touchdowns over two seasons, setting him up as one of the top quarterbacks in the 2023 NFL Draft class.

With Hopkins in the lineup, the Titans will still have speedster Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Treylon Burks, Chris Moore, and Kyle Phillips to help out if Hopkins is at all limited. They also play plenty of two-tight-end sets with Trevon Wesco and Chig Okonkwo. Derrick Henry and Tyjae Spears help round out an impressive group of running backs.
