Tomlin: Steelers OLB T.J. Watt Has a Chance to Play vs. Ravens
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt is questionable to play this Saturday against the Baltimore Ravens, head coach Mike Tomlin announced on Monday during his weekly press conference.
Watt suffered a left low ankle sprain late in Sunday’s 27-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He did not return to the game, and had x-rays that revealed no fracture, but his status for this week remains up in the air.
“T.J. Watt, I just saw him walking around rather comfortably,” Tomlin said. “But again, he’s questionable with his ankle. We’ll see where the roads lead us.”
Watt is one of a number of injured played for the Steelers this week. Three starters — Larry Ogunjobi, DeShon Elliott and George Pickens — did not dress against the Eagles. Watt joined Justin Fields and Donte Jackson in being unable to finish the game.
Tomlin said that all six of those players will have a chance to get back into the lineup on the short week in Baltimore.
“None of these six guys could be characterized as ‘out’ as I sit here today,” Tomlin said.
