Trading Partners? 8 Teams Own Multiple 1st-Round Picks 2022 NFL Draft
With the 2022 NFL Draft about to begin, it is as good a time as any to take inventory of what teams have multiple first round selections, especially as potential trade parnters.
The Detroit Lions (No. 2 and 32), Green Bay Packers (No. 22 and 28), Houston Texans (No. 3 and 13), Kansas City Chiefs (No. 29 and 30), New York Giants (No. 5 and 7), New York Jets (No. 4 and 10), New Orleans Saints (No. 16 and 19) and Philadelphia Eagles (No. 15 and 18) all own multiple first rounders.
With eight teams having multiple first round selections in this year’s draft, there is a chance that some history could be made. tIf all eight teams make the picks that they currently own, it would be the most clubs to make multiple first round picks in the modern draft era.
Six teams have made multiple first round picks previously on four occasions, with it most recently happening in 2020.
While those eight teams have an abundance of resources in this year’s first round, other teams’ outlooks are not as fruitful.
Eight teams do not have a first round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, which would be the most ever if none opt to trade up into Day 1.
The Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers all are without a first round selection.
