USA Today: Ben Roethlisberger Not Among Top 15 Quarterbacks
USA Today unveiled their rankings of the top 15 quarterbacks in the NFL on Monday, and the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Ben Roethlisberger did not make the cut.
Passer ranked ahead of Roethlisberger include the Raiders’ Derek Carr, the Chargers’ Justin Herbert, the Vikings’ Kirk Cousins and the Browns’ Baker Mayfield.
The slight is just the latest in a long list of offseason rankings and takes from national outlets that are pessimistic on the 39-year-old’s outlook for this coming season.
Roethlisberger passed for 3,803 yards and 33 touchdowns with ten interceptions last season. He also completed 65.6% of his passes and was sacked a career-low 13 times.
While the offensive line is still a question mark, Roethlisberger has no shortage of weapons around him, especially after the team drafted running back Najee Harris and tight end Pat Freiermuth in April.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes took the top spot in the rankings.
