Watch: Kenny Pickett’s Draft Party Erupts After Being Selected by Steelers
Former Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett opted to remain with family in his native New Jersey for the 2022 NFL Draft, and the reaction was emotional as expected when he was selected 20th-overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Surrounded by his parents, fiancé and Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi, Pickett wept tears of joy while learning from Steelers brass that he would be their first round selection.

They were certainly prepared for Pickett to potentially be a Steelers, as friends and family in attendance promptly whipped out their Terrible Towels to properly celebrate his swift return to Pittsburgh.

When Steelers legend Franco Harris officially announced the Steelers’ pick from the NFL Draft stage in Las Vegas, the congregation erupted again in a “Kenny” chant reminiscent of the ones heard multiple times during Pitt’s dream 2021 campaign.
