Where Do Jets Have Edge over Steelers? | Steelers Morning Rush
Steelers Morning Rush: Where do the New York Jets have an advantage over the Steelers after trading for Davante Adams?
Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it’s the key matchup for the team’s Week 7 game against the New York Jets on Sunday Night Football.
With the Jets adding Davante Adams to Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard, that gives Aaron Rodgers three targets all 6-foot or taller. Lazard, the most likely of the three to move into the slot, is 6-foot-5.
That’s a tough matchup for Steelers slot cornerback Beanie Bishop. The Pittsburgh rookie checks in at just 5-foot-9. The Steelers are going to have to find a way to deal with this matchup problem, and get home with four rushers to disrupt Rodgers.
