Watch: 2nd Rd Pick Zach Frazier Steelers Introductory Press Conference
The Pittsburgh Steelers first round pick, offensive tackle Troy Fautanu, arrived on Friday for his press conference.
PITTSBURGH — It didn’t take long for Zach Frazier to make the hour and a half trip up Interstate 79 from his hometown of Fairmont, West Virginia, through his college home at West Virginia University in Morgantown, W.Va. and to his professional home with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Frazier talked about how exited he is to join the Steelers young offensive line corps with first-round pick Troy Fautanu and last year’s first-rounder Broderick Jones, his high school wrestling career, his woodworking hobby, and what has driven him to succeed.
Frazier appeared in 47 games for the Mountaineers over a four-year span. Frazier’s career at West Virginia came to an end when he suffered a leg injury during the Baylor game on Nov. 25. He managed to get himself off of the field, avoiding a loss of time on the clock late in the game and impressing NFL scouts in the process. The Fairmont, W.Va. native capped off his Mountaineer career as an All-American and finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy.
