Over the last several months, Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims has been the most commonly mocked first round prospect to the Pittsburgh Steelers and someone the organization has shown significant interest in throughout the cycle. At nearly 6-foot-8, 340 pounds with 36-inch arms, Mims is quite literally built different and his tape pretty good, too.

SN analyst Derrick Bell breaks down his scouting report for Mims: where he excels and the things that he’ll need to work on as he transitions to the next level. Due to having to wait his turn behind other pros and some unfortunate injuries, the sample size is extremely small but there’s a lot to like about his game. Mims possesses several enticing traits that can’t be taught and doesn’t come with any obvious fatal flaws, making him a potential grand slam selection in the event that he falls to the Steelers in round one.
