Steelers Playoff Odds Low Despite Big Move Offseason

By all accounts, the Pittsburgh Steelers are having a strong offseason under general manager Omar Khan. The team pulled off a pair of significant moves at the quarterback position for minimal cost and upgraded its defense with the acquisition of former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen. On top of that, their acclaimed NFL Draft is drawing rave reviews. But even with Queen, the draft, and quarterbacks Justin Fields and Russell Wilson on board, the Steelers’ playoff odds aren’t improving much.

According to BetOnline, the Pittsburgh Steelers remain on the cliffs. They are at just 34.5% to make the playoffs, which puts them middle of the pack in odds, but they favor the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens to make that leap far more.

Pittsburgh is tied for the worst odds of any team in the AFC North with the Browns, and the sixth-worst of any AFC team. Pittsburgh remains above Indianapolis, Las Vegas, New England, Tennessee, and Denver for playoff odds.

The Steelers’ odds of winning the AFC North still are not much better, as they are ranked tied for third with the Browns. In other words, most oddsmakers are betting against the Steelers, who boast one of the hardest strengths of schedule coming into the season and are in a division that is widely regarded as the best in football.
