The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the teams that are interested in Louisville cornerback Cam’Ron Kelly, according to Tanner Phifer. Kelly’s interest includes the Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, and, of course, the Steelers.

The Steelers could look for Kelly as a ballhawk on the outside as he has seven career interceptions. Kelly snagged two picks this past season with two more broken up, and had four interceptions in 2021, a career-best. A transfer from North Carolina, Kelly made an impact felt while with the Cardinals. He finished with 70 tackles and two forced fumbles, showing his willingness to stick his nose in the fan.

At Louisville pro day, Kelly measured in at 6-foot-1, 202 pounds, but the biggest issue is that he ran a 4.83 40-yard dash. For any cornerback, that is going to be a huge issue. Overall, Kelly does play with physicality but has general athleticism concerns after a poor testing day at his pro day. This could exacerbate his flaws, making him a rookie minicamp tryout rather than a priority undrafted free agent.

However, the Steelers are one of the teams sniffing around the bush for Kelly, so it remains something to watch with the draft just under a week away, and Kelly could be one of those undrafted targets that the team would end up having.
