26 Steelers Cuts Clear Waivers

PITTSBURGH — Of the 27 players that the Pittsburgh Steelers put on waivers on Tuesday, 26 have cleared, according to the NFL transactions page. They are free to be added to the team’s practice squad, or the practice squad or 53 man roster of any other NFL team.

Linebacker Tanner Muse was the lone exception, as he was claimed by the Los Angeles Chargers.

All of the players that the Steelers cut, starting on Saturday and leading up to the final cuts before the 4 p.m. Tuesday deadline, went through waivers at noon on Wednesday.

The following players all cleared:

In addition three Steelers veterans that were released that did not need to clear waivers are also eligible to sign with any team:

OT Le’Raven Clark
ILB Nick Kwiatkoski

Now that waivers have cleared, the Steelers can sign up to 16 players to their practice squad. They can sign any player to their practice squad, whether they were with the Steelers or another team, as long as they have cleared waivers or been given their release. Nose tackle Breiden Fehoko has already been reported to have signed to the practice squad.
