Ravens WR Rashod Bateman Steelers

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman arrived at the team’s training camp on Sunday, allowing them to activate him from the reserve/did not report list after he did not show up on Friday during the team’s first training camp session.

Bateman did not arrive, but it was not alarming to the Ravens or their staff. General manager Eric DeCosta had been in contact with Bateman and believed that he would return shortly after the start of training camp, which he did. Baltimore now has their full receiving corps for training camp.

Bateman did participate in the spring portion of the Ravens’ offseason program while he rehabbed a foot injury that had required surgery. He received a cortisone shot in the foot after it started to act up in the Spring, prompting concern from the Ravens about the injury springing up and further aggravating it. Bateman may have missed the first part of training camp to continue receiving treatment on his injured foot.

The team’s first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Bateman is expected to start along with free agent acquisition Odell Beckham Jr. for the Ravens at wide receiver this year. Bateman had 515 yards on 46 catches as a rookie in 2021, but was held to just six games last season due to multiple foot injuries.
