CBS Sports has unveiled their latest mock draft and is projecting the Pittsburgh Steelers to select back-to-back defensive players with their first two picks.

With their first rounder, CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson projects the Steelers to draft Penn State edge rusher Jayson Oweh.

“The Steelers need a QB, offensive tackle, RB and CB. But given the way the board fell, they opt for pass rusher.,” Wilson writes. “Oweh is raw but has the physical tools the Steelers covet, and in a few years we could be talking about him the way we were talking about Bud Dupree once he grew into his role.”

Listed at 6-foot-5, 253 pounds, Oweh earned First-Team All-Big Ten honors in 2020 as just a redshirt sophomore. Oweh recorded 63 total tackles, 13.5 tackles-for-loss and seven sacks over 20 career games. He failed to record a sack last season.

In the second round, Wilson has the Steelers addressing the secondary by snagging Stanford cornerback Paulson Adebo with the 55th overall selection.

Adebo has prototypical size at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds. He was outstanding in his two season as a starter for the Cardinal, tallying 97 total tackles, 27 passes defended and eight interceptions.

He earned First-Team All-PAC 12 honors in both 2018 and 2019. He opted out of the 2020 season, but had previously been viewed as a first-round talent.

The 2021 NFL Draft kicks off Thursday, April 29 in Cleveland.
