Expecting Scoring? Colts Line Has Third-Highest Steelers Total of Season

The Pittsburgh Steelers haven’t done a lot of scoring in the 2023 season. They enter Week 15, with a road trip to face the Indianapolis Colts coming up on Saturday, ranked 27th in the NFL in scoring. That has recently been exacerbated by the absence of starting quarterback Kenny Pickett. They also don’t give up many points. The Steelers are seventh in scoring defense entering play this week.

As a result, the Steelers have gone under the gambling total in 10 of their 13 games. But this week, for some reason, the Vegas oddsmakers think the team’s game is in for an explosion of offense. One week after the Steelers and Patriots had the lowest total in the NFL in 20 years at 30.5, the oddsmakers have set the line for the Steelers and the Colts at a staggering 42.5 points.

That’s the third-highest total of the season for the Steelers, who had an over/under of 44 against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 6 and a 43. 5 total against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 3. Both of those games went under the total.

The Colts are eighth in the NFL in scoring offense and a dreadful 29th in scoring defense. Nine of their 13 games have gone under the total.

For Saturday’s 4:30 p.m. kickoff from inside Lukas Oil Stadium, the Steelers are 2.5-point underdogs, and the Pittsburgh money line pays out at +120, according to odds posted early Tuesday by ESPN Bet.
