PITTSBURGH — PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Montravius Adams appears set to return from the knee injury that has sidelined him since Oct. 20.

Adams was a full participant in practice all three days this week, and with fellow defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi ruled out, Adams — officially questionable — seems like a good be activated from the IR to return to action this week.

Adams first suffered the injury in practice in the week leading up to the Steelers’ Week 7 game against the New York Jets. He tried to play through it, but lasted just one play against the Jets before being ruled out.

On Friday, Adams said that the injury was to the meniscus in his left knee, and that doctors also corrected something in his knee that he had been born with and was unaware was of.

The result has been a somewhat tedious rehab process where he’s avoided painkillers so that he could feel how his knee was responding to the treatment.

“I’m more of a twitchy guy,” Adams said. “The meniscus is like a shock absorber to help you get out of those breaks. So for me, I really had to pay attention to it. I didn’t want to be out here on Toradol and not feel this. That’s something for me I have to really pay attention to, because that’s what I’m good at. That’s what makes me, me. I think it’s just something to watch. You see what will fix it and you pay attention.

“When we go to this practice in the outdoor, I’m good, and I’m good the next day. But if we go in the indoor, I’m probably going to be a little bit weird the next day. But at the end of the day, we gotta do what we gotta do.”

Adams said he feels good to make his return this Sunday against the Eagles, if his number is called.
