The Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants are still waiting for free-agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers to decide where he wants to play in 2025. NFL Network insider Peter Schrager believes it could be a little bit longer, too.

Schrager shared on “Good Morning Football” that Rodgers has no timetable to make his decision.

“Rodgers, we know is going somewhere. And it might not just be a week. It might be two weeks, three weeks, four weeks,” Schrager said. “If you think you know the answer to what Aaron Rodgers’ timetable is, you know more than the Steelers or the Giants do. Because I’ve spoken to sources on both sides, and everyone’s kind of got that shrug emoji. We’re waiting, we’re seeing, giving him his space, let him decide.”

Rodgers’ decision doesn’t seem to be about money, despite a recent report that says he is seeking a $45 million per year contract. If that is true, the Steelers should be the easy choice.

Pittsburgh hasn’t won a playoff game since the 2016 season, but the Giants are coming off back-to-back losing seasons in which they had a combined record of 9-25.

That is unlikely the send-off Rodgers is likely imagining to end his illustrious NFL career that is highlighted by four NFL MVP awards, four first-team All-Pro selections, 10 Pro Bowl nods and a Super Bowl XLV championship and MVP.

Rodgers proved to still have some gas left in the tank in 2024, passing for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns. And the Steelers are ready to win now with an aging roster.

If Rodgers ultimately decides to go to New York, Pittsburgh could entertain a reunion with quarterback Russell Wilson. But that is clearly not the Steelers top choice as they wait on Rodgers.

The question is: How long are the Steelers willing to wait?
