The Jaguars’ defense is ailing heading into the Steelers game. They officially ruled out both safety Andre Cisco and top cornerback Tyson Campbell with hamstring injuries. Both were limited all week, but will not play ahead of the team’s bye week. It appears that starting left guard Walker Little, while active, will not start with his knee injury.

In their places, Buster Brown will start on the outside at cornerback. Daniel Thomas and Andrew Wingard should see time for the Jaguars in relief of Cisco. Meanwhile, Tyler Shatley will start with Little on the sidelines. That is a significant shakeup from what was thought heading into the game, but the Jaguars want to exercise caution before heading into their bye week. Wide receiver Zay Jones will miss the game with a knee injury after not practicing all week, as well.

That should signal good news for George Pickens and Diontae Johnson, who hope they can show up and have a big game in the rain. Both sides should rely upon their running game with the conditions, but Pittsburgh will have more trouble than Travis Etienne and the Jaguars. The Jaguars return starting defensive tackle Davon Hamilton to the lineup, boosting an already potent run defense for the Jaguars. The Steelers will have a tough hurdle to overcome there. But Cisco and Campbell being out means that the group should have opportunities to make noise through the air.
