If you drafted Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren, there’s a good chance he could be leading you to your fantasy football playoffs.

Warren has been one of the top fantasy football draft steals of the 2023 season, according to research by PennStakes.com.

The second-year Steelers running was, on average, the 45th running back drafted across fantasy leagues as the start of this season, but he has performed as the 24th best back in fantasy football. The 21-spot difference between draft position and performance is tied for the fifth-best of all running backs this season.

Raheem Mostert of the Miami Dolphins has been the best value running back. He had an average draft position of 47, but has been the second-best back in the league at 17.9 points per game.

Baltimore Ravens back Gus Edwards was drafted 59th, but is the 22nd-best back so far at 12.0 points per game after an injury to JK Dobbins.

Chuba Hubbard has become the starter for the Carolina Panthers, passing Miles Sanders. Hubbard was drafted as the 58th back, but is 28th in production at 10.4 points per game.

Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. has been the seventh-best back in football at 14.1 points per game after being drafted 34th.

Isaiah Pacheco of the Kansas City Chiefs is tied with Warren as the fifth-best value. He was picked 30th on averaged, but has been the ninth-best back at 14.5 points per game.

As an undrafted rookie in 2022, Warren burst onto the scene. In 16 games, he carried the ball 77 times for 379 yards and one touchdown and caught 28 passes for 214 yards.

He’s far surpassed that production in 2023. Through 13 games, he has 109 carries for 612 yards and three touchdowns and 42 receptions for 272 yards. Warren currently leads all NFL running backs with a 5.6 yards per carry average and has earned a near-equal time share with Steelers starter Najee Harris.
