PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers are starting to get very thin on their defensive line. Defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi suffered a groin injury in the first half of the team’s Week 14 contest against the Cleveland Browns.

Ogunjobi never went into the blue tent to get further evaluated after suffering his injury, but he did talk with a trainer on the sideline.

Fourth-year defensive lineman Isaiahh Loudermilk started in Ogunjobi’s place on the following series. The Steelers are hoping Ogunjobi’s injury isn’t anything serious, though.

Loudermilk is the only backup defensive lineman that was dressed as Pittsburgh entered the game with only four active defensive lineman — Ogunjobi, Loudermilk, Cameron Heyward and Keeanu Benton. That could spell bad news for the Steelers if any other defensive lineman were to go down.

Meanwhile, fellow defensive lineman Dean Lowry was a healthy scratch and nose tackle Montravius Adams remains on injured reserve with a knee injury even after returning to practice this week.

Ogunjobi did eventually return to the game, but he played very gingerly in his limited action. He was later ruled out.

Benton did quickly make up for Ogunjobi’s absence as he made an impressive interception on Browns quarterback Jameis Winston in the second quarter. The Steelers offense was then able to capitalize with a touchdown drive to take back the lead.

Ogunjobi has 35 tackles (14 solo) and 1.5 sacks on the season.
