Are the Pittsburgh Steelers centering their search for a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft on the tackle position?

It seems like they might be, with the Steelers bringing in Georgia tackle Amarius Mims on a pre-draft visit. That came after the team met with him formally at the 2024 NFL Combine and sent head coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Omar Kahn to his pro day.

The Steelers have also done their due diligence on other first-round tackle options like J.C. Latham from Alabama and Taliese Fuaga from Oregon State, making their interest in drafting the position early in this year’s draft clear.

Alan Saunders joined Chris Carter on the Locked On Podcast to discuss what the Steelers may do in the first round, as well as what their plan will be at other positions if that’s the plan with pick No. 20, as the team also has significant draft needs at wide receiver, center, defensive tackle and slot cornerback.
