The Pittsburgh Steelers have opened as fairly heavy underdogs in early odds for their Week 15 road game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Steelers are 4.5-point underdogs to the Eagles, according to odds posted on Monday by FanDuel Sportsbook. The Steelers are +190 on the money line, compared to -225 for the Eagles. The over/under total for the game is 43.5.
It’s the sixth time this season the Steelers have been listed as the underdog against the odds. The good news for Pittsburgh backers is that the Steelers have not only covered, but won all five of those games outright. They were betting underdogs against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1, the New York Jets in Week 7, Washington Commanders in Week 10, Baltimore Ravens in Week 11 and Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13.
Dating back to last season, the Steelers have won seven consecutive games outright as underdogs against the odds. In his career, Mike Tomlin is 60-32-3 against the spread as a betting underdog.
The Eagles have been favorites 10 times this season. They’re 8-2 in those games, including have won nine straight overall and seven in a row when favored. Against the spread, the Eagles have a 5-5 record as a favorite.
Eight of the Eagles’ 13 games have gone under the total, while the Steelers have had seven go over and six under.
The Eagles are seventh in the NFL in scoring offense at 26.3 points per game and the Steelers are 10th at 24.8 points per game. On defense, the Eagles are tied for second at 18 points per game and the Steelers are fifth at 18.3 points per game.
