Packers All-Pro LT Could Miss Steelers Game

Steelers Packers OT David Bakhtiari

After the team placed him on injured reserve with a knee injury that continued to pop up, the Packers’ two-time All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari’s status is up in the air for much of the season. He played just one game before the issues arose, and Bakhtiari has dealt with knee injuries for much of the last three seasons following a severe knee injury in 2020. That could put his status for the Steelers game against the Packers in doubt.

It is unclear when Bakhtiari will return or even return, but he is out the next four games. The Steelers will play the Packers on November 12th, and while that is six games away, the way that the injury is being talked about raises doubt on whether Bakhtiari will play in that game, too.

The Packers are a younger team with the Aaron Rodgers trade done and executed. Jordan Love is at the helm trying to lead the team into their next era, but Bakhtiari is a crucial holdover from the era that the Packers hoped could become a cornerstone to help protect Love early in his career. Pittsburgh will avoid some of the top left tackles on their schedule if this happens, as it appears that Texans left tackle Laremy Tunsil will not play on Sunday. The Steelers, as always, could have more opportunities opened up to Alex Highsmith when changes like that occur on the schedule.
