If you’re looking for a game between Super Bowl contenders, you might want to consider skipping this Sunday’s Pittsburgh Steelers game at Acrisure Stadium against the New York Jets, at least according to the odds makers.
According to odds updated this week by FanDuel Sportsbook, the Steelers and Jets are two of the least-likely Super Bowl teams in the AFC. The Jets have +12,000 odds to win the AFC, while the Steelers are at +7,000. Only the Houston Texans, at +22,000, have worse odds.
Those odds come despite the Las Vegas Raiders (+4,000) being the only 0-3 team in the conference. The 0-2-1 Texans are also winless.
The Steelers and Jets are among six teams tied at 1-2, with those squads sporting vastly different odds of representing the American Conference at Super Bowl LVII in Arizona in February. The Los Angeles Chargers (+1,100) and Cincinnati Bengals (+1,300) remain in the top echelon of teams, while the Tennessee Titans (+3,100) and New England Patriots (+4,400) are closer to the bottom. The Jets beat the Cleveland Browns and lost to the Bengals and Baltimore Ravens. The Steelers beat the Bengals, but lost to the Patriots and Browns.
The 3-0 Buffalo Bills (+250) are the current favorites to win the conference, followed by the Kansas City Chiefs (+400) and the AFC North-leading Ravens (+750). The Philadelphia Eagles are favored to come out of the NFC at +370.
Every other NFL game this week will feature a team with better odds of making it to this year’s Super Bowl than Pittsburgh and New York. The Steelers are currently favored over the Jets by 3.5 points , with a +152 money line. The over/under is 40.5 points. Full Steelers-Jets odds breakdown.
