Steelers Dealing with Two Big Injuries
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers received some mixed news on Wednesday, but safety Trenton Thompson returned to practice in a full capacity, giving Pittsburgh some needed depth at safety. However, Minkah Fitzpatrick did not join him in practice, missing his second straight day. He is dealing with a knee injury, and Mike Tomlin seemed optimistic that he could get some reps in practice this week. Fitzpatrick did not practice last week.
Running back Najee Harris (knee) and left guard Isaac Seumalo (shoulder) returned to practice, with Seumalo practicing fully and Harris practicing at a limited capacity. They are both battling nagging injuries, but have played through them.
Meanwhile, quarterback Kenny Pickett was limited once again with his ankle injury. He said on Wednesday that he wants to play, but it would not be up to him to get out there for Sunday’s clash against Seattle.
Linebacker Elandon Roberts remained sidelined, although he did say to not count himself out throughout the rest of the season.
Tomlin did not update the status of strong safety Keanu Neal, who has been eligible to return from the injured reserve list for the last two weeks, but has yet to return to practice with a rib injury. He has not had his window opened.
