UNITY TWP., Pa — The Steelers are going to have new practice jerseys to wear as they take the field for training camp for the first time on Thursday. Coming off the field for walkthrough, the offensive players donned white jerseys with yellow stripes on the sleeves while the defensive plays wore yellow jerseys with black sleeves.

It’s a new look for the team who rarely changes up what they look like in practice, but this time, they can go out and look good while practicing on top of that. Dan Moore and the rest of the players only noticed it in passing, but are big fans of the change for the team.

“I didn’t even really notice it at first,” Moore said. “But I really like them. These are nice. It feels good to have a little change.”

The numbers are stitched on the jerseys as usual. Usually, the team would change their game jerseys before the practice jerseys, but the uniforms they have been using for practice have been around for a long time. As for their usual game jerseys, they did show off the block numbers last year and wore them in game.

The Steelers do have a few throwback uniforms, including the old block letters uniform that they wore between 1969 and 1996. It does not have the team’s logo on the chest, but has been rated one of the best throwback uniforms in the NFL, notching 4th overall on CBS Sports’ list earlier this month.
