The Ravens coaching staff is going to look a lot thinner.

The Baltimore Ravens are losing yet another defensive coach as defensive line coach and assistant head coach Anthony Weaver is heading to Miami to join Mike McDaniel’s staff with the Dolphins. Weaver is just the latest of many departures after Mike Macdonald became the Seahawks head coach and secondary coach Dennard Wilson took the Titans defensive coordinator job. Inside Linebackers coach Zach Orr was named the defensive coordinator, and so the team will need all new position coaches on that side of the ball

Under Wilson, Geno Stone led all NFL safeties and was second in the league overall with seven interceptions in 2023. Kyle Hamilton added four, giving Baltimore the most productive safety duo in the NFL, in terms of takeaways.

The 41-year old Wilson will be a defensive coordinator for the first time in Tennessee. He first broke into the NFL as a quality control coach with the St. Louis Rams in 2012. He was a defensive backs coach with the Rams, New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles from 2015-22 before coming over to the Ravens last offseason.

Defensive passing game coordinator Chris Hewitt should be able to help fill some of the voids that the team has on the defensive side of the football.

The Steelers will obviously play the Ravens twice in 2024. They do not have either Seattle, Miami, or Tennessee on their list of 2024 opponents.
