Odds: Ravens Open as Big Favorites over Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers open as 6.5-point underdogs to the Baltimore Ravens for Saturday’s pivotal AFC North showdown at M&T Bank Stadium, according to odds posted on Monday by FanDuel Sportsbook. The Steelers are +235 on the money line, compared to -290 for the Ravens. The over/under total for the game is 45.5 points.
It’s the seventh time this season the Steelers have been listed as the underdog against the odds. The 6.5-point spread is also the largest for the Steelers as underdogs. They were 5.5-point underdogs against Philadelphia on Sunday.
The Steelers were 5-0 outright as underdogs before Sunday’s 27-13 loss to the Eagles. They were betting underdogs against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1, the New York Jets in Week 7, Washington Commanders in Week 10, Baltimore Ravens in Week 11 and Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13. Overall, the Steelers are 10-4 against the spread this season.
Before Sunday, the Steelers had won seven consecutive games outright as underdogs dating back to last year. In his career, Mike Tomlin is 60-33-3 against the spread as a betting underdog.
The Ravens are 7-6-1 against the spread this season and 9-4 as favorites. They’ve been favored in every game except the Week 1 contest against the Kansas City Chiefs.
With a 35-14 road win over the lowly New York Giants on Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens snuggled closer to the Steelers in the AFC North.
Lamar Jackson passed for 290 yards and five touchdowns, while Rashod Bateman had three grabs for 80 yards and two scores in the Ravens win. Big Blue starting signal-caller Tommy DeVito exited the game with a concussion in the first half and was replaced by Tim Boyle.
The Steelers will clinch the AFC North title with a win over the Ravens on Saturday. If not, the Ravens will tie the Steelers for first place with two games remaining. The Steelers would hold the tiebreaker due to conference record, however.
