Ravens Star WR Set to Return against Steelers

Ravens star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is set to return against the Pittsburgh Steelers following a two-game absence with an ankle injury. While he is listed as questionable on the injury report, Beckham told reporters on Friday that he expects to suit up despite the frustrating ankle injury that has hampered him early in the season.

“Yes. I expect to be out there. [We’ll] see what we have going on in the gameplan,” Beckham said.

Baltimore needs its weapons, as it could be shorthanded up front with starting right tackle Morgan Moses doubtful and left tackle Ronnie Stanley listed as questionable. Having played in AFC North games before in Cleveland, Beckham knows what to expect in the Steelers and Ravens matchup despite this being his first taste of the heralded rivalry.

“I’ve been [in] the [Cleveland] Browns [versus] Steelers [rivalry]. [I’ve played in] the Browns-Ravens [rivalry],” Beckham said. “I think the whole division, it’s all the same. I know the history between the two, so I don’t imagine it being any different than when I was on [the] Cleveland [Browns]. This whole division is a tough group for each of these four teams to go against each other.”

While the Ravens offense is starting to click and come around with the impressive play of quarterback Lamar Jackson, the passing offense has not hit an eruption spot yet, mainly due to the health of the offense. However, a struggling Steelers secondary might allow them to do just that. Beckham’s return can only help. Rashod Bateman should be back from a hamstring injury as well. In other words, they are getting healthy at the right time, heading into a rivalry game where they could move to 3-0 in the AFC North. But the Steelers hope to foil those plans and head into their bye at 2-0 in the AFC North.
