Report: Steelers Attempted to Claim DT Khalil Davis, Brother of Carlos Davis
The Steelers already have two sets of brothers within their organization. Derek Watt and T.J. Watt are the obvious pair of brothers that are wearing Black and Gold. Terrell Edmunds and Trey Edmunds are also brothers that are with the Steelers.
On Tuesday, the Steelers nearly just had their third set of brothers, as they placed a claim in on former Buccaneers defensive lineman Khalil Davis, the twin brother of current Steelers defensive lineman Carlos Davis.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the Steelers were one of four teams that attempted to claim Davis on waivers.
New Colts DT Khalil Davis was a very popular player on waivers, as Indy, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and the Chargers all attempted to claim him.
The Colts had top priority, but Davis was *this* close to joining his twin brother Carlos on the Steelers.

Davis was awarded to Indianapolis and now will head there to play with the Colts. However, with the Steelers dealing with a bevy of injuries along the defensive line, including Carlos Davis, Tyson Alualu, and Stephon Tuitt, they are clearly looking to add someone to that room for insurance. The Packers rushed for 131 yards on Sunday, so the Steelers are likely looking for depth and insurance along the defensive line.
However, it will not be coming from Khalil Davis, but the Steelers did sign a pure nose tackle in Eli Ankou to the practice squad on Monday. It appears he will be the addition they have onto the roster after losing out on Davis.
