Report: Steelers to Hire Former Lions VP Sheldon White

to a report from Aditi Kinkhabwala.
Sheldon White is going to work with expected assistant general manager Andy Wiedl,and is expected run personnel in the Steelers front office. Khan, a current Steelers vice president, is expected to be announced as the replacement to Kevin Colbert later this week.
White worked a variety of front office roles while with the Lions. He started out in 1997 as a scout, before becoming director of pro personnel in 2000. He became vice president of pro personnel in 2009 and then the interim general manager in 2015 after the firing of Marty Mayhew.
Moving away from the Lions, Sheldon White worked in the college game, serving as the executive director of player personnel and recruiting for Michigan State from 2016-20. He returned to the NFL last season, working as a scout for the Washington Commanders.
White played in the NFL before his work in the front office. He played as a cornerback with the New York Giants, Detroit and the Cincinnati Bengals from 1988-93.
White’s son, Cody White, plays wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers and is entering his third season with the team.
