Steelers Afternoon Drive: Reason For Optimism With Steelers Defense?

Welcome to the Steelers Afternoon Drive, our new daily podcast featuring all the latest Steelers news.

While the Pittsburgh Steelers offense showed marginal improvement offensively from their Week 1 performance vs the San Francisco 49ers to Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns, it was really the defense that stole the show. EDGE duo Alex Highsmith and TJ Watt both made impact plays throughout including each of them scoring a touchdown. In the absence of Cam Heyward, we saw the likes of Larry Ogunjobi, Keeanu Benton and DeMarvin Leal do their best to fill the void. How did they fare against a rushing attack led by Nick Chubb and standout guards Joel Bitonio and Wyatt Teller? Offensive coordinator Matt Canada continues to have the fingers pointed directly at him for the offensive struggles, but how much blame should be shouldered by lack of execution from Kenny Pickett, Najee Harris and company? Lets go for another Steelers Afternoon Drive and talk about it!
