Steelers Camp Report: Quiet Report Day, Offense Seeking Explosives
UNITY TWP., Pa. — The Pittsburgh Steelers made a lot of news on their training camp report day at St. Vincent College on Thursday, but their entrance was not a part of it.
It was an understated quiet entrance day, from $70 million man Alex Highsmith in his pickup truck to first-round draft pick Broderick Jones, who took an Uber to camp from Pittsburgh.
But there was still plenty of news from the day as Najee Harris advocated for his running back brethren, but said he feels comfortable that the Steelers will take care of him at contract time after talking to Le’Veon Bell.
From a roster standpoint, all 90 players reported, everyone completed the run test, and no one will have to start the season on the PUP list.
It doesn’t look like Mike Tomlin will get a contract extension this summer, and he doesn’t seem too concerned about that.
Alan Saunders and Nick Farabaugh broke down the first day of training camp’s headline, plus talked about the player they’re most looking forward to seeing in the first day of practice on Thursday.
