Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin wished the Pittsburgh Penguins luck in the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs with a message on social media on Tuesday.

“Good luck to Coach Sullivan and the Penguins as they begin the hunt for the cup tonight,” Tomlin wrote on Twitter. “Bring it home guys.”

The Penguins will face the New York Rangers in the first round of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs, with Tuesday’s Game 1 being played in Madison Square Garden. The series will return to Pittsburgh for Game 3 on Saturday.

Since Tomlin came to Pittsburgh in 2007, the Penguins have won three Stanley Cup titles, and he has been seen attending several Penguins games over his time in Pittsburgh.

The appreciation runs both ways, as the Penguins recently honored retired Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in a pre-game ceremony and held a moment of silence before their game following the death of quarterback Dwayne Haskins.

The Steelers, Penguins and Pittsburgh Pirates have also recently worked together on charitable initiatives, including a food distribution around Thanksgiving and a clothing drive in January.
