Steelers Daily Links: Eric Ebron Makes Comeback, Robert Woods WR FA Fit?

Steelers TE Eric Ebron

Former Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Eric Ebron is attempting to come back to the NFL after sitting out the 2022 season; could released Tennessee Titans wide receiver Robert Woods be a good free agent fit in Pittsburgh?

In addition to tackle Taylor Lewan, the Tennessee Titans also released wide receiver Robert Woods on Thursday. The Steelers do have a need for an experienced slot wide receiver, and the 30-year-old Woods has been productive in the past, with over 3,000 yards from 2018-20 with the Los Angeles Rams. His 2022 season with Tennessee was a struggle, as the Titans pass offense scuffled and he finished with 527 yards and two touchdowns.

Former Steelers tight end Eric Ebron said he’s making a comeback in 2023. “Can’t wait to get back on the field this year! I HAD to let my body heal. Now, I feel better than ever,” Ebron tweeted. Ebron started the 2021 season as the Steelers’ starting tight end, but lost his job to Pat Freiermuth after an injury midway through the season. Now healthy, the 29-year-old is looking for another opportunity.

Ryan Scarpino: Neither the Penguins, Pirates, nor Steelers won a playoff game/series from 2018-2021. This also happened from 1980-1983. If the Pens miss the playoffs or don’t win a first-round series, it will be the longest combined postseason winless streak in Pittsburgh sports history by the big three.
