Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and Boston-based sportswriter Bill Simmons of The Ringer both have the Pittsburgh Steelers winning the AFC North this season.

“I think the Steelers have the best team in the AFC North. People just haven’t gotten around to it yet,” Simmons said.

🏈 Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk is also high on the Black and Gold. He has Pittsburgh reaching the AFC Championship Game but losing to the Kansas City Chiefs. Florio has the Chiefs over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.

🏈 The Steelers announced on Wednesday that improvements have been made to Acrisure Stadium. One of the new features involves Evolv security screening technology being added to the Stadium’s gates. People walking in do not need to remove anything from their pockets and can just walk through. The Steelers also announced that new point of sales systems have been added at Acrisure Stadium to help make for faster checkouts at concession stands. More grab-and-go areas for food, drinks and alcohol have been added to help improve the speed of getting concessions. In addition, six Little Caesars pizza areas have been added around Acrisure Stadium.

🏈 The Steelers have just a 2% chance to win Super Bowl LVIII, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. The Steelers’ playoff chances are 44.44%.

🏈 Forbes says Steelers are now worth over $4.63 billion, up 16 percent from last year. The team ranks 18th in the league based on value, one spot ahead of the Cleveland Browns at $4.62 billon

🎂 Happy Birthday to former Steelers center Jeff Hartings, born on September 7, 1972 in Saint Henry, Ohio. Hartings, who was with Kevin Colbert in Detroit, signed with the Steelers as a free agent in 2001. Hartings won Super Bowl XL in 2005 and was their starting starting center from 2001-2006.
