2023 Steelers NFL Draft Dawand Jones

Patrick Peterson hopes the Pittsburgh Steelers draft a big tackle, and Kyle Brandt continues his offseason Steelers love-fest by predicting a return to the playoffs.

🏈 Kyle Brandt of “Good Morning Football” believes the Steelers will make the playoffs in 2023: “The Pittsburgh Steelers will be in the playoffs next year. Kenny Pickett will make a big jump. The defense will be improved and T.J. Watt may be the comeback player of the year if he qualifies. The Steelers will be back,” Brandt said.

🏈 Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports is also hearing that the Steelers and Bears are in talks of a trade in the draft. There’s definitely some truth there, from what I’ve heard. It’s more than just smoke,” Wilson said. Wilson added that it would likely be for Ohio State offensive tackle Paris Johnson Jr.

🏈 Patrick Peterson would like to see Ohio State offensive tackle Dawand Jones in the Black and Gold. “With the Steelers selection, I’ll go with Dawand Jones out of Ohio State. A 6-foot-8 prospect, 362 pounds. This guy played in the Big Ten against great competition. So he’s a proven talent,” Peterson said on the NFL Network.

🏈 Footbahlin podcast: Ben Roethlisberger said the worst weather that he ever played in was in 2004 against the Dolphins in Miami, which was played in the remnants of Hurricane Jeanne.

🏈 Pittsburgh Business Times: Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw is rounding up final bids for his $22.5 million 744-acre ranch in Oklahoma.

📅 On this date in 2017, Steelers chairman and Hall of Famer Dan Rooney died at the age of 84. Rooney was a part of all six of the Steelers’ Super Bowl titles. Rooney had numerous respected qualities, but arguably his greatest was his knack for hiring the right people to lead the organization. He hired Chuck Noll, Bill Cowher and Mike Tomlin. Noll and Cowher are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and Tomlin surely will join them someday in Canton.

Former Buckeye Ryan Shazier was back in Columbus on Thursday.
