Steelers Titans QB Ryan Tannehill

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson is probably going to miss the rest of the regular season and could undergo shoulder surgery in the next week or so, team owner Jim Irsay told ESPN’s Stephen Holder. Gardner Minshew will start at quarterback for Indy if Richardson is sidelined for the rest of the year. The Steelers play the Colts in Week 15 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

🏈 It looks like Kenny Pickett could square off against Malik Willis on Thursday Night Football in Week 9. According to Jeremy Fowler and Turron Davenport of ESPN, Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill suffered a high right ankle sprain in Sunday’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens in London. The Titans have a bye this week, which might help, but his availability in the coming weeks is certainly questionable. Like Pickett, Willis is a member of the 2022 quarterback draft class.

🏈 According to Daniel Valente of The Score, since Matt Canada became the Steelers offensive coordinator in 2021, Pittsburgh has only won three games by more than one possession (over 8 points), tied for second-fewest in the NFL. For comparison, the Buffalo Bills have done it 21 times. Sixteen teams have done it 10+ times in that span.

🏈 The Miami Dolphins have 30 touchdowns this season (6 games). In contrast, the Steelers have scored 33 offensive touchdowns since the beginning of 2022 (22 games).

🏈 Former Steelers guard Kevin Dotson is performing at a high level with the Los Angeles Rams. After starting each of the past three games (192 snaps), Dotson is the second-highest graded guard in the NFL entering Week 7, according to Pro Football Focus. Dotson, who was traded to Los Angeles on Aug. 27, will face his former team on Sunday.

🏈 According to Ryan Scarpino, this is the third time since realignment in 2002 that all four AFC North teams had at least 3 wins in the first 6 weeks of a season. Also happened in 2014 and 2021.

🏈 Steelers running back Jaylen Warren stopped at Oklahoma State for a game during the bye week. Warren’s alma mater Oklahoma State defeated Kansas, 39-32.

🏈 Will Bill Belichick be coaching next year? Yes, but it might not be in New England.

🎂: Former Steelers quarterback Kordell Stewart celebrated his 51st birthday on Monday.

🎥 Steel City Star shared a throwback clip of legendary Steelers linebacker Jack Lambert getting ejected for punching Cleveland Browns left guard Henry Sheppard on Oct. 15, 1978. Lambert threw the punch while arguing a late hit penalty on Browns quarterback Brian Sipe.
