Steelers DL Cam Heyward Finalist for PFWA Good Guy Award

Steelers DL Cam Heyward NFL Honors

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Cam Heyward has been nominated as a finalist for the PFWA Good Guy Award for professionalism in dealing with the media, the organization announced on Tuesday.

The Good Guy Award is given to a NFL player for “his qualities and professional style in helping pro football writers do their jobs.” The award has been given out since 2005.
Heyward is a finalist along with Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin, Denver Broncos safety Justin Simmons and New York Jets tight end C.J. Uzomah.

Heyward is the third member of the Steelers to be nominated for the award. Running back Jerome Bettis won the award in its inaugural year in 2005. Wide receiver Hines Ward was a finalist in 2006.

Heyward also won The Chief Award for the 2021 season, which is given out by the Pittsburgh chapter of the PFWA to the Steelers player that best exemplifies the spirit of cooperation with the media that team founder Arthur J. Rooney Sr. embodied. It was the third time in his career Heyward won that award.
