Derrick’s Dudes & Duds: Warren Explodes, Moore Demolished (+)

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jaylen Warren and OT Dan Moore Jr.

The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, when a last-second field goal sank their chances at a comeback victory. The run game and defense offered performances to be proud of but once again, the Steelers weren’t able to generate any sort of consistency through the air. AFC North losses like this certainly sting, especially when they have such an effect on playoff positioning. The winners and losers were pretty clear but let’s talk about several guys who had a substantial impact on today’s outcome.

Dude- Jaylen Warren

Jaylen Warren nearly carried the Pittsburgh Steelers offense to a win today. 67% of his runs were deemed successful and he also ripped off a 74-yard touchdown to open up the second half to give the team life. He did literally everything he could do with the opportunities that were given to him. If he would have had more than nine carries on the afternoon, perhaps the final score would have been different. Warren’s dominant showing against a top-5 run defense warrants serious consideration about workload distribution moving forward.
