AT STAKE

The Steelers are running out of games to get their season back on track, as a loss to the Eagles would push them to 2-6 entering their off week next Sunday. That doesn’t make this a must-win game — the Steelers face just two teams win winning records in the second half — but it does make it a significant opportunity to jump-start things if they want to make a second-half run. The team’s outlook will be significantly lifted if they can find a way to win in Philly.

That’s particularly true for the offense. The Steelers, after a rough game in Buffalo in Week 5, has tightened significantly the last two weeks, holding Tom Brady and Tua Tagovailoa to 20 and 16 points, respectively. The defense should feel pretty good about its chances of similarly bottling up Jalen Hurts, but Philly might have the best defense the Steelers have faced this season. If Matt Canada’s squad can do than their pathetic three touchdowns over the last three weeks, that would go a long way.

TRANSACTIONS

The Steelers signed kicker Nick Sciba to the practice squad and elevated him to the game-day roster. Defensive tackle Carlos Davis was also elevated, while wide receiver Josh Malone was released from the practice squad. Wide receiver and kick returner Calvin Austin III was not activated from the injured reserve when his 21-day window close, and will miss the rest of the season.

INJURY REPORT

K Chris Boswell (groin), CB Josh Jackson (groin), DT Larry Ogunjobi (knee) and CB Levi Wallace (shoulder) are all out. CB Ahkello Witherspoon and WR/KR Steven Sims are set to return from injury. The Eagles are healthy.

FROM THE OTHER SIDE

The Eagles are looking to solidify their contender status, adding defensive end Robert Quinn in a trade from the Chicago Bears this week, as they want to build on the 6-0 start to the season and not let it slide back.
