When the Steelers traded up in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, they made a gigantic, traits-based bet on Broderick Jones. The rookie has seen a plethora of reps through his first two preseason games with encouraging but inconsistent results. While his physical demeanor and jarring power made for a relatively easy translation to the NFL level, it was obvious that he had work to do before he was reliable in pass protection.
