PITTSBURGH — Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett logged a full practice on Thursday and is on track to play against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Pickett told Steelers Now that he practiced without a knee brace on Thursday after stating that his progress would determine how much he needed the brace and the likelihood that he would suit up against the Ravens.

“It depends on how the week goes and how I feel Sunday, if I need it or not,” Pickett said.

In that regard, he seems likely not to need the brace on Sunday. Pickett was wearing a sleeve over his left calf. It has been reported that in addition to his left knee bruise, Pickett also has been dealing with a muscle strain.

Offensive coordinator Matt Canada said he will not modify the game plan or exclude things from his play sheet because of Pickett’s injury. He said the team is focused on moving forward with Pickett as the starting quarterback this week instead of getting backup Mitch Trubisky ready to play. It seems that will likely occur, as Pickett is suiting up and practicing like he will play.

Kenny Pickett suffered a knee injury in 2018 while at Pitt. Otherwise, he does not have a history of knee injuries in his NFL or football career.
