Steelers Linebacker Hit With Fine for Hit in Colts Game

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers inside linebacker Mykal Walker was fined $5,611 for his horse-collar tackle against Colts running back Zack Moss on the team’s first touchdown of the game. That is Walker’s first fine of the season. It’s in addition to the team losing safety Damontae Kazee for the rest of the regular season due to his hit on Colts receiver Michael Pittman Jr.

Colts cornerback JuJu Brents was fined $8,250 for a hit on Najee Harris that was deemed unnecessary roughness. If you watch the play, it’s just a solid, hard tackle. The fine makes little sense.

Fine amounts are set by the NFL CBA. Fines go to the Professional Athletes Foundation, which gives money to NFL legends in need and provides funds to support the health and safety of football players at all levels.
