Steelers Meet with Big-Play Wide Receiver Target

The Pittsburgh Steelers had a virtual pre-draft meeting with Oregon wide receiver Treason Holden last week, according to a report by Justin Melo of The Draft Network.
Teams can hold a maximum of 30 in-person pre-draft visits, exempting local players, and the Steelers are set to wrap those visits up this week, but teams can also hold video-conference meetings with other prospects they don’t bring to Pittsburgh.
Holden is the first of that group to be reported, as he told TDN that he has had pre-draft chats with the Steelers as well as six other teams. The Steelers previously scouted Holden in person at the 2025 Shrine Bowl and the 2025 NFL Combine.
The 23-year-old Holden started out as a top prospect at Alabama, where he played sparingly while winning College Football Playoff National Championships in two of three seasons before transferring to Oregon in 2023.
Before he ever got to play for the Ducks, Holden was arrested, charged with unlawful use of a weapon and dismissed from the team. When the Chargers were completely dropped 10 days later, he was reinstated.

With the Ducks, Holden had the best season of his career in 2023, recording 37 catches for 452 yards and six touchdowns. He then went out and bested those marks in 2024, catching 45 passes for 718 yards and five scores.
Holden did that despite being ejected in the second quarter against Ohio State on Oct. 12 for spitting on an opponent and missing time against Maryland with a right leg injury on Nov. 9.
The 6-foot-2 1/8, 205-pound Holden did not test all that well at the 2025 NFL Combine, running a 4.57-second 40-yard dash and posting a 32-inch vertical and 10-foot-3 broad jump for an overall 5.42 Relative Athletic Score.
Holden is currently projected to be a day three pick or an undrafted free agent, and is the No. 324 player on the NFL Mock Draft Database consensus big board.
