The Pittsburgh Steelers dominated in the running game on both sides of the football and didn’t turn the ball over, and when you do that, you’re usually in position to win the game. That’s just what happened when the Steelers got a 24-16 road win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Here’s all the storylines from the must-win game:

Alex Highsmith and Larry Ogunjobi apparently really, really like it in Charlotte. They celebrated their homecoming by wrecking everything on defense.

The run game was the focus on offense, with the big guys up front trampling the Carolina front seven. Najee Harris brought the stiff-arm out, smacking Panthers safety Jeremy Chinn on the way to the end zone. Jaylen Warren scored his first career touchdown in the first quarter.

Marcus Allen’s boneheaded penalty nearly cost the Steelers. He said he “has to be better than that.

The longest drive ever? It might be. The Steelers started the second half with a 21-play drive, their longest in at least 45 yards.

The Steelers are keeping the faith about keeping Mike Tomlin’s streak of never having a losing season intact.
