Odds: Steelers Most Likely to Finish Last in AFC North
The Pittsburgh Steelers are most likely to finish in last place in the AFC North, according to odds posted by Bet Online this week.
The oddsmaker set odds for each team to finish in each place in their division, and the shortest odds for the Steelers have them finishing fourth in the North.
The Steelers are +175 to finish in last place, with implied odds of 36%. The have +225 odds to finish in third place (30%), +280 to finish in second place (26%) and +500 to win the division (17%).
The Cincinnati Bengals have the best odds of coming in first place at +120, followed by the Cleveland Browns (+190), Baltimore Ravens (+210) and Steelers.
The Browns have the best implied chances of finishing second and the Ravens have the shortest odds to finish third.
The Steelers finishing in last place in the division would be historic, as they have never finished lower than third in the four-team division since it was founded in 2002. The finished fourth in the six-team AFC Central in 1999. The last time the Steelers finished in last place in their division was in 1988, when they went 5-11 to bring up the rear of the Central.
The last time they came in last place before that was before the NFL-AFL merger in 1967-69, when they finished in last place in the NFL Century Division for three straight seasons.
In the 21 years since the forming of the AFC North, the Steelers have finished third five times — including in 2022 — second seven times, and won the division nine times, the most of all teams. The Bengals and Ravens are tied with the second-most division titles, with six apiece. The Browns have never won the AFC North and have not won a division since the 1989 AFC Central.
