The Pittsburgh Steelers have opened as touchdown underdogs against the Miami Dolphins for the team’s meeting on Sunday Night Football next week.

The Steelers are seven-point underdogs to the Dolphins, according to odds posted late Sunday by FanDuel Sportsbook. The have a +240 money line and the point total for the game is 44.5.

The Steelers have been underdogs in five of six games this season, but have won two of those games outright. The Steeler beat the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6 as underdogs. They failed to cover the spread in each of the team’s other four games.

Overall, the Steelers are 2-3-1 against the spread, 2-2-1 as an underdog and 1-2 as a road underdog.

The Dolphins are 3-3 against the spread tie season, but have failed to cover each of their last three games after covering in each of their first three. The Dolphins have been favored twice, covering three points in a 20-7 Week 1 win over New England and losing outright as three-point favorites to the New York Jets in Week 5.

Four of the Dolphins’ six games have gone under the total, and four would have gone under the 44.5 total for this game. The Steelers have also had four games go under the total and had four games go under 44.5 points.

This is the first game between the teams since 2019, a 27-14 Steelers win at Heinz Field. The last game between the teams at Hard Rock Stadium was a 30-15 Dolphins victory in 2016. Overall, the Steelers have a slight edge in the series, 15-13. Pittsburgh is 5-9 in games in Miami.

The Dolphins will be using the game to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their undefeated 1972 team. Those Dolphins defeated the Steelers, 21-17 in the 1972 AFC Championship Game.
