Najee Harris began his NFL career with high expectations, both for his success in college at Alabama and being selected as a first round pick. Harris has answered that pressure by setting a new franchise record for yards from scrimmage for a rookie.
After initially becoming the fastest rookie to reach 1,000 total yards in Steelers history, Harris now sits at 1,270 yards, a record he will undoubtably extend with 4 games remaining on the schedule.

Harris’ total breakdown currently includes 873 yards on the ground and 397 yards as a receiver. The 23-year-old has been able to accumulate yards despite inconsistent play by the team’s offensive line throughout the season. He also still has plenty of room to improve himself, averaging 3.7 yards per carry.
With so many questions surrounding the future of other key positions, the Steelers do at least have the running back spot secured now with Harris.
